OUR STORE

In the end, only kindness makes sense,

it is only she who ties your shoes... and only she who,

among the crowd of the world, lifts her head and says "it was me you were looking for".

And from then on, she follows you everywhere, like a shadow or a friend”

Naomi Shehab Nye

Mindfulness practice is a science-based approach to meditation to train attention, awareness skills, stress management, and building resilience. How much time do we spend every day on ourselves, on what is ours, on our actions, on what we have done and what we still have to do? Every day our lives are full of commitments to be completed. As a result, the days become nothing more than a sum of things done or to be done. All this causes us anxiety and pain, and does not allow us to live well.

We spend more time thinking about our life than actually living it. The goal of “mindfulness” is to teach us to be present in our lives, to help us discover the value of “not knowing” and the value of learning to be with ourselves, without judging and without overthinking.

“Mindfulness allows you to see, beneath the surface of appearances, what is actually unfolding in your experience, in your body, in your mind”. Unknown author

Mindfulness is useful for understanding what is really being said to you by a patient, a colleague, a friend, or your child. Mindfulness allows you to catch that flash that crosses someone's face for a moment when you say something offensive, but without really understanding what you said or how it was received, without realizing that you have shot a metaphorical arrow into another person's heart; being yourself unaware of what you have done.

How will we embody this knowledge in the most stressful moments, when life puts us in front of real difficulties? What happens when we are overwhelmed by mental states such as anxiety, boredom, impatience, irritability, sadness, despair, anger, jealousy, greed, euphoria, a sense of importance or lack of importance, or any of the countless emotional reactions in which we might be catapulted on any given day because of circumstances?

“What does it mean to already be ourselves? And how can we embody this knowledge and at the same time be this knowledge moment after moment?” .  Unknown author

How can these breezes and sometimes these storms of the mind relate to who we really are in that moment? What are our possibilities of having a wiser relationship with what happens in the field of awareness: the weather, the cloudiness, the turbulence that occasionally emerges and dominates the mind and heart? Life itself offers an infinity of opportunities to explore these often neglected aspects of our being. Among these opportunities is also that of cultivating greater intimacy with that range we sometimes call positive emotions, which are not necessarily limited to pleasant circumstances. We might then ask ourselves if it is possible to feel a sense of well-being at a given moment, to experience a deep sense of prosperity, what is sometimes called eudaimonia? We could explore the impossible roles of joy, enjoyment, empathy, or satisfaction in the full expression of our lives. Is it possible to be aware of fleeting moments of joy, in the absence of storms and clouds, which are themselves fleeting if we do not nurture them? Perhaps joy and well-being are already here? We ignore, or do not have the right lenses to detect these currents within us.

These innate abilities and qualities of the heart and mind can be developed and expanded through the tender embrace that mindfulness offers us in the present moment. If cultivated, they can become more available, even in times of great difficulty.

MEDITATION, INCLUDING THE PRACTICE OF MINDFULNESS (AS A PART OF MEDITATIVE PRACTICE, EFFECTIVE FOR TRAINING ATTENTION, STRESS MANAGEMENT, AND BUILDING RESILIENCE), IS THE TOOL FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE.

MEDITATIVE PRACTICES INVOLVE AN INTERMEDIATE STATE BETWEEN THE DREAM WORLD AND WAKEFULNESS. WITH THE HELP OF THE TECHNIQUES MENTIONED, ONE DESCENDS INTO ALTERED STATES OF CONSCIOUSNESS AND WORKS WITH AN INDIVIDUAL'S INNER WORLD. WITH MEDITATION AND MINDFULNESS, THROUGH ACTIVE IMAGINATION WHICH, ACCORDING TO CARL JUNG AND JAMES HILLMAN, HAS SCIENTIFIC VALUE, WE EXIT PSYCHIC AUTOMATISMS AND ENTER THE DEEPER STATES OF THE HUMAN PSYCHE, THAT IS, THE DIMENSIONS OF THE UNCONSCIOUS:

BY FANTASY I MEAN TWO DISTINCT THINGS, THAT IS, FIRSTLY THE PHANTOM AND SECONDLY THE IMAGINATIVE ACTIVITY...(...)...IT IS ESSENTIALLY A PURE EMANATION OF THE CREATIVE ACTIVITY OF THE SPIRIT, EFFECT OR PRODUCT OF A COMBINATION OF PSYCHIC ELEMENTS CHARGED WITH ENERGY. AS PSYCHIC ENERGY CAN BE DIRECTED IN A DESIRED DIRECTION...”.

When we are awake, the “I” dominates. Instead, when meditating, we enter the dreamlike dimension, the most characteristic place of the psyche. By working with the image in the guided meditation technique, recognizing its intrapsychic value for clinical objectives, possibilities open up to work with the unconscious and reduce the “I”, which blocks and stiffens thought, because such techniques allow us to manipulate the state of consciousness for clinical purposes. This tool helps us integrate the conscious and unconscious psyche and the state of consciousness is modulated, fostering the development of the individual and finding the true path of life.
